Tomato & Buckwheat Chowder Recipe

Another diet recipe of my wife’s never ending diet! But hey, I was amazed with the merits of buckwheat so I’d like to share with you.

The amount of protein in buckwheat grain is between  % 13-15. But more significantly, among all cereal products buckwheat contains the  highest rate of digestible protein. On the other hand existing 75% of carbohydrate is complex, not simple carbohydrates. It is strongly recommended that %55-60 of total daily calorie should be formed by complex carbohydrate.

Buckwheat is nutritious and gives you strength. It protects and widens blood vessels and lowers cholesterol. Since it contains high level of magnesium, phosphore and iron, it helps with balance of high blood pressure and anemia.

Let’s see the steps for this phenomenal chowder recipe.

Tomato & Buckwheat Chowder 1

Step – 1 Boil buckwheat in hot water for 20 minutes

Step – 2 Grate tomatoes & garlic and roast in a pot. I always roast them together in order to get the best of aroma from garlic. You know, garlic is a natural antiseptic and antibiotic. It helps to protect you from virus and bacteria.

A must of my kitchen!

Tomato & Buckwheat Chowder 3Step – 3 After roasted, add buckwheat, parsley and peppermint. You may replace any one of the greens with basil. It’s all up to your taste. My wife and 4 year old don’t mind. They love all the greens, thank Lord..
